RoomReady was founded in Illinois in 2007 as Zeller Digital Innovations and rebranded to RoomReady in 2013, marking the beginning of founder Aaron McArdle’s mission to simplify AV integration. Frustrated by the complexity and unreliability of traditional video conferencing systems, Aaron set out to build a better experience—one focused on streamlined, user-friendly solutions.

As RoomReady grew and expanded nationally, Aaron recognized that the same simplified approach that transformed AV integration could also improve our internal operations. He saw an opportunity to bring warehouse, shipping and receiving, and assembly under one roof—eliminating inefficiencies and creating a more cohesive, scalable operation. With our previous spaces no longer meeting the needs of a growing business, this consolidation idea not only aligned with our integration philosophy but also laid the foundation for expansion and new locations across the country.

In 2022, following the idea for a consolidated facility, we proudly opened our new Pacific Northwest office in Beaverton, Oregon. During the design and construction of this facility, our Operations Team brought this bold new facility concept to life. Spoiler alert: it was a resounding success!

The success of our Oregon location gave us the confidence to implement the same model at our new Headquarters in Bloomington, Illinois. This integrated approach has not only streamlined our operations but also fostered a more collaborative and efficient work environment.

Our new Headquarters features nearly 40,000sq. ft. of space that is home to all of our departments. We’ve designed a workspace that truly supports our hybrid work model. We have 3 main conference rooms, equipped to host in person meetings as well as a hybrid model for employees on the go or working from home. Since we have implemented a hybrid model, we have deployed our own AV integration to ensure a seamless experience for in person and hybrid team members.  As part of a company-wide contest to name our conference rooms, Senior Sales Engineer Chelsea Summers’ suggestions were chosen. Her names honor RoomReady’s history in Bloomington-Normal, nodding to the streets where the company was once located before moving into our new building.

The office includes enclosed offices and open workspaces—a mix of dedicated workstations and hoteling stations that reflect our commitment to supporting hybrid work. For private calls or video meetings, team members can step into our fully soundproof phone booth, named The Enterprise” offering quiet and privacy within our open office environment.

In addition to the open workspace, our Tech Lab and demo room are essential for testing products before we specify them in any designs for our end-users.  They rigorously test and troubleshoot a wide range of products, software, customizations and their compatibilities to ensure that everything works as it should from the moment a solution is installed at a project site. This meticulous process guarantees that our end users can immediately benefit from the technology once installed.

Additionally, our new Headquarters houses the RoomReady warehouse that serves our Central Region end-users. Our warehouse is a bustling hub where all the products used for installs are received, sorted, assembled, and then packed for shipping to their destination for installation. Our warehouse and assembly teams aim to make the installation of the hardware and software as seamless as possible. The shipping and receiving team carefully catalog, document, and organize all the various components prior to assembly. This allows for a streamlined procurement process for our end-users and enhances the service we are able to provide once on the job site.

The new building has a much larger Warehouse and Assembly areas, providing ample room for productivity, flexibility and new team members, and so many activities! Due to the increased space and productivity, the assembly team had to get a second coffee pot to keep their mugs full, and their bodies caffeinated. It was reported they go through an entire 2lb bag of coffee grinds a week!

When it comes to the assembly process, our team ensures that solutions are built out in our patented Set Mounts and tested to prove their functionality before arriving on a job site. The various components to this process include labeling the different cables and wires for easy identification, hardware being securely mounted in the Set, and all connections and power tested to certify they are working properly. Once our rigorous testing process has been completed, the assembly team records all the serial numbers, MAC addresses, and IP information. Our record keeping process is imperative to safeguard that the end user has the proper documentation for product warranties once their set is installed. Along with the product warranties, the records aid the RoomReady support team in supporting our end users remotely.

Every RoomReady solution comes with a 90-day warranty—our assurance that your room is installed correctly and functioning as it should. It’s our way of standing behind the quality of our work and giving you confidence in the solution you received.

Our new Headquarters is more than just a building—it’s a reflection of who we are and where we’re headed. It represents the evolution of RoomReady’s mission: to simplify AV integration, not only for our customers, but within our own operations. From collaborative workspaces to streamlined assembly and rigorous product testing, every element of this facility was designed with intention, innovation, and our end users in mind.

As our home base, HQ stands as both a tribute to our roots in Bloomington-Normal and a springboard for what’s next. We’re proud of what we’ve built—and even more excited about where we’re going…. Hint, we are wicked excited about it!
