At RoomReady, we specialize in designing, deploying, and supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms that work right out of the box. Our solutions prioritize simplicity, reliability, and scalability, so your team can focus on the conversation—not the technology.

We want to make sure your rooms work like the first time, every time. However, with Microsoft Teams

continually updating the platform with new features, you may notice that your Microsoft Teams Room doesn’t look like it did the first time you used it. We are here to ensure that you stay up to date with the changes and updates with the Microsoft Teams Platform, so you can keep your rooms and meeting running smoothly!

Microsoft Teams Rooms Operating Systems

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android (MTRoA) and Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows (MTRoW) run on different operating systems:

MTRoA runs on a customized version of Android OS provided by device manufacturers like Poly, Logitech, and Neat. These devices are typically all-in-one solutions or use a dedicated Teams-certified Android compute unit.

MTRoW runs on Windows IoT Enterprise, a specialized version of Windows designed for embedded systems. It requires a separate compute unit (like a mini-PC) that runs the Teams Rooms software, often paired with external peripherals.

This distinction affects features, customization, and management capabilities, so knowing which one your organization uses is important for troubleshooting and getting the right support.

While both enable seamless video collaboration, the user interface, features, and hardware requirements vary between the two. If you’re unsure which type of Teams Room your organization uses, check with your company administrator to ensure you’re accessing the right resources and support.
